S&P Futures Unfilled Upside Gap Followed by Unfilled Downside Gap

Interesting to note that following Tuesday’s unfilled upside gap (low>prev day’s high), S&P futures gapped down below Tuesday’s low and so far have failed to fill that gap. That’s unprecedented. Since inception of the S&P futures contract, there have been 16 instances of an unfilled upside gap followed by a gap down open (below the previous day’s low). In every case the downside gap was filled intraday. Today looks to be the first exception unless September S&Ps can get back up to 1277.50…
