New Feature for the End-of-Day Charts

By on Tuesday, March 1st, 2011 at 10:24 pm

Yesterday’s call for another modest up day failed in a big way Tuesday, but for what it’s worth the same setup is in effect for Wednesday given the up open. Also interesting to note that Tuesday represented only the 13th time since inception of S&P futures that we saw three consecutive opens above the previous day’s high. All but one instance led to a flat-to-up S&P one week later…

S&P Futures Open > Previous Day’s High Three Consecutive Sessions
03/01/11… S&P futures ??? one week later
12/13/10… S&P futures +0.4% one week later
12/28/09… S&P futures +0.8% one week later
09/09/09… S&P futures +3.4% one week later
04/17/07… S&P futures +0.6% one week later
08/16/06… S&P futures -0.1% one week later
07/16/99… S&P futures -4.5% one week later (*)
12/30/96… S&P futures +0.1% one week later
10/13/95… S&P futures +0.3% one week later
11/26/93… S&P futures +0.5% one week later
05/17/88… S&P futures -0.3% one week later
01/29/87… S&P futures +2.6% one week later
10/11/82… S&P futures +2.1% one week later

I’ve added in NYSE common stock internals to the end-of-day datasheet, and I’ve also added in a new section to the end-of-day charts that provides static snapshots of our interactive charts. This is useful in two respects – one, the static charts can be pulled up on any device (no flash necessary) and two, it allows for a very useful ‘slideshow’ feature in which the user can browse a complete section of charts quickly and easily. Just pull up any static chart within a section (NYSE, Common Stocks Only, SPX Components Only, etc) and then click on the chart to advance through every chart within the section.
